The rebel Disciples - Chapter 5 - DIsciple (2)

Thinking of overturning everything with just a few hairy beasts, utterly ignorant of their own insignificance!

A excruciating pain, akin to burning flames, erupted from the back of his neck, coursing through his nerves like electricity, swiftly spreading to his chest in an instant. His heart felt as if it were suddenly clenched tightly, swelling with flesh and blood, on the brink of bursting at any moment.

The intensified agony almost surpassed Bai Ke's physiological limit. He widened his eyes abruptly, as if myriad dark currents surged within the deep abyss of his eyes, then, as if drained, it dissipated in an instant, revealing a pair of distinctly black and white, extremely bright eyes.

Behind him were the hot furry bodies of the monsters, carrying the foul breeze, and those sharp fangs that had already pierced through his skin in various places, ready to impale Bai Ke with a single forceful thrust.

His heart churned, swelling almost to the point of bursting, while his mind was engulfed in chaotic blankness and a voice...

Just as Bai Ke was about to lose consciousness, or even his life, he opened his mouth, ready to exhale...

Just a bit more...

Just a tiny bit more...

The air around began to oscillate slightly, then grew more intense, as if someone were stirring a pool of water with a heavenly stick, even though they were indoors, it seemed like a fierce wind was howling, swirling and forming a vortex, enveloping them within.

In the midst of this tremendous howling wind, Bai Zi Xu, who had been lying unconscious on the ground, stirred as the dark mist dissipated from Bai Ke's eyes, his brows furrowing, seemingly about to wake up at any moment.

As for the two strange figures, one tall and one short, they had already been dumbfounded by the sudden change in circumstances, before they could react, they were swept into the whirlwind, their robes torn, eyes bulging, and numerous long, thin wounds appeared all over their bodies as blood splattered.

They opened their mouths as if to scream, but their voices were drowned out by the howling wind, and then, they were engulfed by the fierce wind, only vaguely visible as two blurry figures.

The three unknown monsters, however, managed to evade the high-speed rotating wind, falling into the eye of the storm, apparently obeying the tall figure's hand gestures without consciousness or thought.

Despite the violent shaking of the air and the hurricane, they were not deterred, hesitating only briefly after losing control from the tall figure's manipulation, before continuing their previous assault, viciously knocking Bai Ke to the ground, their sharp fangs aimed at piercing through Bai Ke's shoulders and pinning him to the ground...

Just as the situation reached a critical moment, a deep voice came from all directions, full of anger, accompanied by the relentless howling of the wind, echoing in everyone's ears: "Who dares to be so audacious? Thinking they can overturn everything with just a few hairy beasts, utterly ignorant of their own insignificance!"

Almost as soon as the voice rang out, the movements of the three monsters froze in place, as if they were instantly petrified, unable to move a single millimetre closer.

The razor-sharp teeth, which sent chills down one's spine, had barely scratched Bai Ke's shoulder, piercing through his clothing and a thin layer of skin, before two drops of blood rolled down, and there were no deeper or more severe injuries.

Bai Ke was stunned for a moment before blinking his eyes. The fuzzy consciousness gradually began to clear, and the strength that had been withdrawn gradually flowed back into his body. The burning sensation that traversed his nerves disappeared, and the excruciating pain in his heart suddenly eased, as if the clenched hand had finally loosened.

In his gradually focusing vision, he saw a tall figure walking towards him from a distance, the black robe fluttering in the night breeze, the black hair lifting to one side...

For the first time in his eighteen years of life, Bai Ke saw black in this way...

Not as a background or a backdrop, but as a person...

In that moment, Bai Ke was so surprised that he almost didn't react. He was simply looking in the most ordinary way possible, through eyes that were no different from those of ordinary people, even clearer.

What he had been longing for all his life became a reality in this moment, but he forgot to be delighted, instead he stared blankly and amazedly at the figure standing before him, passing through the thick darkness of the night, through doors and windows that seemed non-existent to him, and arriving in front of Bai Ke.

As he landed and stood still, with a casual sweep of his sleeve, the three monsters frozen behind Bai Ke instantly met their death...

Their stiff bodies fell to the ground with a thud, like frozen popsicles, and the heads with their bulging eyes and sharp teeth were held in the hand of the figure in black.

At the same time, the violently oscillating air suddenly calmed down, and the whirling wind ceased abruptly, the two strange people, whose flesh had been slashed by the wind, fell from the sky with a "bang," barely landing on Bai Ke's doorstep, the sound of it seemed as if no bone in their bodies was intact.

The tall figure convulsed briefly and then fell silent. The short figure, probably because of slightly thicker flesh, still had a last breath.

He lay there, struggling to lift his head, through the bloodstains covering his vision, he saw the figure standing there, like an ant looking up to a god.

Although it was obviously night, and the light was dim, the person in black somehow made him hastily avert his gaze.

He shifted his gaze to Bai Ke, who was standing up again, holding his chest, and his eyes fell on the back of Bai Ke's neck, as if trying hard to see something.

Then, he suddenly convulsed twice, his head jerked back, and he fell to the ground, the light fading from his open eyes, devoid of life.

However, the two on the other side didn't notice anything that happened here.

After landing, the man in black kept his gaze fixed on Bai Ke, without moving a millimetre, as if he wanted to see through Bai Ke.

Bai Ke was still in a daze, almost mechanically propping himself against the wall, coughing softly while holding his chest, his gaze also fixed on the man in black, or more precisely, on his eyes.

He could only understand some simple emotions; anything more complex was beyond his comprehension, and the gaze of this man in black was probably the most complex he had seen in all his years.

In those eyes, Bai Ke seemed to see countless things, yet he seemed to see nothing at all. He didn't understand what such a gaze meant, he just knew that when he saw this gaze, he almost instinctively felt a bit sad...

Unreasonably sad...

Just as he was somewhat puzzled as to why he would be affected by someone's gaze, he saw the man in black's eyes suddenly turn red, faintly shrouded in a layer of mist.

Bai Ke opened his mouth, feeling somewhat surprised and at a loss.

Too many shocking things had happened in these short moments, leaving him completely unsure how to react.

As he stood there, dumbfounded and bewildered, the man in black finally made a move.

He seemed to want to take a step forward towards Bai Ke, but stopped before he could take a step.

Bai Ke still looked at him somewhat bewilderedly.

He moved his lips, uttering a low, indistinct sound, saying something. But because the voice was too low and too dry, it was completely incomprehensible. It sounded like two words, perhaps a name, Bai Ke barely managed to hear the first one, was it "Zero" or "Ling"? Or was it some other similar syllable...

He choked after saying the two words, then lowered his head, raising one hand to cover his eyes. Because of the stiffness, the tendons on the back of his hand stood out, as if he were trying to restrain something, trembling slightly.

After a moment, he lowered his hand, the bloodshot eyes still shrouded in a thin layer of mist.

Just as Bai Ke wondered what this person was going to do, he saw him take a deep breath, then flick his robe, and "thud," he knelt in front of Bai Ke, then raised his head and solemnly shouted, "Master!"

Bai Ke: "........................"
